She has had an incredibly traumatic couple of years, experiencing a stillbirth with her son in 2011 and going on to endure severe medical complications with the birth of her daughter the following year; now presenter Amanda Holden has opened up on how she got through the ordeal.

Recalling her difficult time during her latest interview with Good Housekeepingthe mum-of-two revealed that it was therapy which helped her through on her darkest days.

“It makes you suddenly think, I have to live. I’ve got to live, but I’ve got to try and live a good, happy life for me too and I think that’s why I faced up to the fact that I needed to speak to somebody,” said the 44-year-old.

Amanda, who is mum to daughters Hollie Rose and Alexa Louise, added: “[The therapist] was very good at giving me sentences to say to myself to make me stop panicking about my own mortality. I think you have none of these worries unless you’ve got children.”

The star, who is married to record producer Chris Hughes, added that she has accepted the fact that she cannot have any more children.

“I’m not allowed. I would be dead the next time. And I think Chris would say you can have them but you’re not having them with me. I’ve got the two I’m supposed to have. I just had to complete my family to feel like I could be me,” the Britain’s Got Talent judge added.

We are sure that many of you can identify with what Amanda has gone through, and it’s comforting to know that she is now in a good place after suffering so much heartbreak.
