It was already set to be the perfect day, but with this latest development there's no doubt that Princess Charlotte's christening will be one to be remembered for years to come.

While we know where it's going to be held, what she'll be wearing and who are likely to be named her godparents, the public had yet to be informed which lucky photographer would be taking the all-important photos.

However, the wait is now over and it has been revealed that Mario Testino, famed for snapping supermodels Kate Moss and Cara Delevingne. will be doing the honours on the big day.

Announcing the news today, a spokesperson for Kensington Palace released a statement, saying: "The Duke and Duchess are delighted that Mario Testino will help capture this important moment for their family and look forward to sharing the photographs with the public."

The photographer obviously impressed the much-loved royal couple when he was hired to take their engagement photo all those years ago, so it's no surprise he seems truly delighted to be involved in such a momentous occasion in British history.

Commenting on the news, the photographer gushed: "I am overwhelmed and honoured to be chosen to document this occasion and to carry on the documentation of the family that is the soul of this country, a country that has given me so much."

Princess Charlotte's baptism will take place at St. Mary Magdalene Church on the Queen's Sandringham Estate on July 5th this year.

"The Duke and Duchess are delighted that Mario Testino will help capture this important moment for their family and look forward to sharing the photographs with the public.
