It’s often said that the pair could be mistaken for sisters, but Reese Witherspoon was well and truly in ‘mum mode’ as she marked her daughter Ava’s 17th birthday this weekend.
The Cruel Intentions star took to her social media channels to share a beautiful dedication to her eldest child and daughter with Ryan Phillippe.
Posting a gorgeous photo of lookalike Ava, the 40-year-old wrote: “Can't believe my baby is 17 today! I love you, Ava. Your gorgeous heart and loving spirit never cease to amaze me! I’m so lucky the universe let me be your mother.”
It seems as though Reese is planning a big celebration for Ava, too, going on to share an adorable shot of herself and youngest child Tennessee holding a brightly-coloured bunch of balloons.
“Birthday prep with the ‘lil man,” she wrote.
Ava also took to her social media channels to mark the occasion with some words of wisdom on her own Instagram account.
“Thank you to the wonderful people who guided me to who I am today. Sure, it’s ‘my day’, but you are what has made up every single day for me since 9/9/99, and, according to me, you should also be celebrated for all the energy, wisdom, and support you’ve put into this now-17-year-old,” she mused.
Wow, when we were 17 we were just waiting for the cake and cards!
