They announced the news of their separation last year, and with their divorce now pending, no one would have been surprised to see Mariah Carey and estranged husband Nick Cannon celebrating separately on Easter Sunday.

However, true to their word, the stars put on a united front over the weekend, celebrating the holiday together as a family with their young twins, three-year-old Monroe and Moroccan.

Devoted mum Mariah took to her Instagram page to share a photo of herself with presenter Nick and their adorable son and daughter, as they headed out on a hunt in search for Easter eggs.

“Happy Easter!” wrote the 45-year-old, adding the hashtags ‘on the egg hunt’ and ‘NY is wild’.

It was presenter Nick who first revealed that the pair were going their separate ways last year, revealing in an interview that they had not been living together for some time.

When official confirmation of their separation and their intention to divorce emerged, Nick insisted that their children would always come first.

“We spend holidays together, we do everything that we are supposed to do together as a family. They love mommy, they love daddy. Being the fact of our situation – we have always been people who have been on the go, coming and going – their life hasn’t changed one bit,” said the 34-year-old.

He later added: “Obviously dating will come down the line, but right now I’m just slowing down. Family is the first thing and my kids are most important.”

It’s refreshing to hear that Nick and Mariah are making such a huge effort to make it work for the sake of their little ones.
