They announced that they are expecting their first child last week, and this star couple discovered the gender of their little one in rather dramatic fashion on Monday.
Backstreet Boys star Nick Carter found out last night that he and wife Lauren Kitt are expecting a baby boy – during a live episode of Dancing With the Stars.
Nick, who is currently participating in the show, found out the news after receiving a perfect score for his modern dance routine with professional partner Sharna Burgess.
Nick was then joined by Lauren on stage, and the couple were presented with a giant blue present box. After opening the box and seeing blue balloons fly out, the delighted couple knew that it was going to be a boy!
The couple also touched on their past struggles on the road to pregnancy, with Lauren becoming visibly emotional as she recalled losing a baby with Nick.
“We were pregnant before and we lost the baby, and it was really hard on Nick. Just watching him get so excited about something and then seeing him so hurt was hard,” she told Dancing With the Stars host Erin Andrews.
