They announced back in July that they were going their separate ways and, as with many celebrity couples, they have found themselves at the centre of a number of rumours and reports ever since.

Today, however, Brian McFadden has hit out at claims that his partying was to blame for his split from wife of three years Vogue.

In an interview with the Irish Sun, the dad-of-two said: “When people break up in the public eye, people think there is some sinister reason. That is definitely not the case. I didn’t go off the rails. I don’t have time to drink heavily.”

“I’m not going to lie and say I don’t like a drink – I do, but I’m the same as every Irish man who works from Monday to Friday and goes out at the weekend,” he added.

Brian, who is dad to daughters Molly and Lilly-Sue with ex-wife Kerry Katona, insisted that he and model Vogue are focusing on their careers and are still on very good terms.

“Both Vogue and I have been working extremely hard for the past six months, getting up at 7am and not finishing sometimes until after midnight. We both take our careers very seriously,” he said.
