A massive congratulations are in order this morning following the announcement that popular soap star, Simon Gregson, is due to become a dad again!

The actor, who has played Steve Mc Donald on Coronation Street since 1989, took to Twitter to announce his wonderful news last night.

Suggesting that there may have been some concerns in the early stages of his wife's pregnancy, Simon uploaded a snap of himself and Emma Gleave and captioned the shot: "After a stressful few months, myself and @emmagleave are excited to announce..."

The star then let the photo do the talking as the snap depicted the cute couple posing with their stomachs exposed, but while Emma's bump was clearly a result of her impending arrival, Simon helpfully explained his bump was due to something a little different!

The happy couple, who tied the knot in 2010, are already the proud parents of two little boys named Alfie and Harry.

Congratulations have poured in for the 40-year-old actor and his family since the happy news went public, with co-star and new mum Catherine Tydesley tweeting: "Oh my god!!!! Yeyyyy!!!! Congrats kids!! Awesome news!! Xxx"

Wishing the lovely couple all the best on the rest of their exciting journey!
