It has been a week full of unfortunate news reports, and we have yet another one this morning.

It has been a very dramatic 24 hours for the family of beloved Hollywood actor and Indiana Jones star Harrison Ford, after reports emerged that the 72-year-old was involved in a plane crash yesterday.

While initial reports claimed that the father-of-five was ‘seriously injured’ after his vintage plane crash-landed, the star’s son, Ben Ford, has revealed that he is doing “ok” right now.

Ben, who is a chef, took to Twitter to update concerned fans after the news broke, writing: “At the hospital. Dad is ok. Battered, but ok! He is every bit the man you would think he is. He is an incredibly strong man.”

“Thank you all for your thoughts and good vibes for my dad,” he added.

Frank Marshall, a producer on one of Ford’s Indiana Jones films, also tweeted to say that “Indy is fine”.

News of the crash broke yesterday, with the actor’s representative saying that Ford had experienced engine trouble before take-off.

“Harrison was flying a World War II vintage plane today which had engine trouble upon take-off. He had no other choice but to make an emergency landing, which he did safely. He was banged up and is in hospital receiving medical care,” the statement read.

The rep added: “The injuries sustained are not life threatening, and he is expected to make a full recovery.”

We’re glad to hear that Harrison is doing well, and we wish him a fully and speedy recovery.
