Anyone who follows her on social media will know that she is a devoted mum, and this week Hilary Duff opened up on how she maintains a positive, happy family environment around two-year-old son Luca after splitting from husband Mike Comrie.
The singer and actress, who filed for divorce from her estranged husband earlier this year, admitted that she is “really proud” of how she and Mike have handled their split.
Opening up during a recent interview with People magazine, the 27-year-old said: “We are a unit and we’re going to be a unit for the rest of our lives. We realised we weren’t where we used to be, but I feel so lucky this happened when Luca was young because this is his normal now.”
Hilary and Mike wed in August 2010, going on to welcome son Luca Cruz two years later. The announced the sad news of their separation in January 2014.
The former couple remained close in the aftermath of the split, prompting many to think that they would reunite; however, Hilary made their split official by filing for divorce earlier this year.
We’re glad to hear that they have been able to work things out so that Luca is able to get the love and support he needs.
