The only real symptom of ptosis is a drooping lid. This may be mild and therefore not easily recognisable or it can be quite severe covering the entire pupil.

Children will often tilt their heads back into a chin up position or raise their eyebrows in an attempt to reduce the obstruction of sight. Congenital ptosis rarely corrects itself so it is vital if you think your child is suffering from ptosis that you visit your G.P. or ophthalmologist.
