While it appeared the popular star and dad-of-two has hinted that he and partner, Crystal Renay, were expecting their first baby together, the subtlety of the post left many Instagram users scratching their heads in confusion.
Uploading a photo of Crystal clutching an old snap of Ne-Yo cradling her stomach, the 35-year-old star, who rose to fame in 2004 after penning Let Me Love You for fellow singer, Mario, sent the rumour mill into overdrive by captioning the sweet pic with the word: "Surprise!"
Not everyone was convinced that the star was alluding to a pregnancy however until Crystal's best friend, Angelica, sent her congratulations across social media.
In addition to celebrating the couple's impending arrival, Angelica, who goes by Nautica_Angell on Instagram, also alluded to a very recent wedding between the pair!
Leaving fans of the couple in little doubt that big changes are on the horizon, Angelica uploaded the original snap and wrote: "Screaming congratulations on the wedding and the baby bundle to my favourite couple and best friends."
And if that wasn't enough to satisfy uncertain Ne-Yo fans, Angelica finished her post by writing: "Can't wait to meet the beautiful angel. A miracle of life."
