The dissolution of their high-profile relationship made headlines all over the world as did the shocking event which eventually led to the split, so when Chris Brown paid tribute to former girlfriend Rihanna during a recent concert, it's fair to say he was met by more than a few  raised eyebrows.

Chris, who viciously assaulted the Four Five Seconds singer in 2009, insists his feelings for the stunning 27-year-old Barbadian haven't changed.

Performing Rihanna's recent controversial track B***ch Better Have My Money, Chris, in a perhaps ill-advised declaration, told fans that Rihanna was his b***ch for life."

When asked by DJ Tim Westwood to clarify both the remark and the choice of song, the Forever singer said: "She's my homie though. We knew each other since we were 14, 15 so with that kind of history, we are always going to be cool."

Dismissing rumours that tension and animosity exists between the former high-profile couple. dad-of-one Chris said: "I don't get jealous. I don't get mad. I got nothing but love and respect for her."

Addressing the questions which may be raised on account of his song choice, the 26-year-old singer simply said: "I respect her as an artist. Obviously people are going to make a spectacle, like 'Oh, he's playing her music!' But who doesn't? I'm pretty sure she plays my music."

We wonder if the super-talented Rihanna will rate his performance.
