These lies that all kids try on their mums are a bit of rite of passage – we’ve even said them to our own parents when we were children!
But what our kids don’t seem to realise is that we’re mums – and by virtue of that fact they can get nothing past us. They’ll learn. Oho, they’ll learn.

6. I have to go for a poo.
7. I have to go for a wee.
8. I’m not TIRED.

10. If you let me go I’ll be good.
11. My homework’s finished! Can I go play now?
12. Well ALL my friends are allowed to!
13. Nanny / Dad / Granddad / the man in the moon said I could.
14. School report? Ahm, no it didn’t come yet.
15. If you let me go I promise I’ll never ever EVER ask for anything again.
16. Of course I’ve brushed my teeth.
17. I don’t know.
