Yep, yep, and yep!

Returning to work after maternity leave is NOT easy. We’re talking 'crying in the toilet, emotional rollercoaster' kind of not easy. But it has its good points too – because now you can pee in peace!

Here are 20 thoughts all mums experience at one point or another that show the ups and downs of returning to works after baby:

1. Right, the boss has given me grief three times already and I’ve only been here an hour. I think I should put him down for a nap.

2. How do you use email again?

3. Is there jam on my arse? Yoghurt on the back of my jacket? Actually, maybe I’m better off not knowing.

4. How’s my little angel? Maybe I’ll ring again. I’ve only called seven times this hour. That’s half the previous. Oh God I’m a terrible mother.

5. I’ve returned to work and left my child in a crèche. I’m a terrible mother.

6. I’m actually enjoying work, and being able to go for a wee in peace is a delightful bonus. Oh God, I AM a terrible mother.

7. Think I’ll go to the bathroom again, even though I don’t actually have to pee. Might as well make the most of the novelty.

8. *jumbled illogical thoughts centring around guilt*

9. Don’t cry. Don’t cry. Don’t cry. Don’t cry.

10. Actually, this is easier than I thought it would be.

11. Lord, this is horrible. Why did I ever decided to come back?

12. No, wait it’s not that bad.

13. A spreadsheet? What in the name of holy baby powder is a spreadsheet?

14. Wow, I’m tired. Thank God I froze those dinners for the week.

15. Did I just try and wipe tomato sauce of my colleague’s face with a baby wipe?

16. Oh God if this meeting goes over and I’m late for crèche I’m so dead. Stop waffling and get to the point!

17. Okay, I forgot how amazing it was to talk to adults.

18. I miss my baby so, so much. This is hard.

19. Is it Friday yet?

20. Nearly… there… come on clock… 5.28… 5.29… 5.30 – OUTTA here!
