Whether it’s for medical reasons, you have to go back to work, or you are making a stand and reclaiming your body back, weaning your baby off your breast is a time of mixed emotions.

When you do finally move them off the boob, you may start to miss some of the best things about breastfeeding

The big boobs

Seriously, breastfeeding gives you the biggest boobs ever! They look great in low cut tops and no doubt feel a whole lot perkier. But when you are no longer feeding, they can start to get a little smaller and sag a little lower. Oh the joys!

The excuse to sit down for an hour or two...

Having to nurse your little one was the best excuse to sit down for an hour or two and do nothing but cuddle your little one and maybe catch up on your favourite shows. You’ll have no excuse now!

The amount of calories it burns

Depending on how much your little one drinks, your body can burn up to 600 calories, and that’s while you are just sitting on the couch! However, this all comes to an end when you stop and you have to start thinking about going for a walk or a run!

Looking to you for comfort

There is just something so special about being the only one who can make your baby's food. Now don’t get us wrong, babies look to dad for comfort as well, but knowing you are the only one who has the ability to feed them, makes you feel kind of special... Admit it, ladies!

Not having to prepare food

Breastfeeding means you don’t have to make up bottles at 3am or purée food that you know will only end up on the floor.... All this changes when you start weaning – now you’ll actually have to put some effort in to food preparation.

The fact that your baby is no longer as tiny as they were when you started

Weaning means your little one is growing up and that they aren’t the teeny, tiny little person they were when they were first born. And sometimes that can be the hardest part of the process.
