Heart FM DJ Zoe Hardman welcomed her first child, Luna, in September of this year, and has opened up about her “traumatic” birth in an exclusive interview with Hello! magazine.

The radio presenter, who is married to rugby player Paul Doran Jones, explained how her plans for a water birth fell to the wayside after a gruelling labour.

“They don’t call it labour for nothing. I felt really quite traumatised afterwards. It was hardcore. It took me a while to process it… I cried a lot about it,” the 33-year-old said when talking about Luna’s birth.

“Next time around I’ll just have an epidural and a cup of tea.”

One month with you. Can't believe I spent 33 years without you. My beautiful little girl

Clearly delighted to have welcomed a healthy little girl, Zoe’s happy baby news was bittersweet as her pregnancy came not long after her older sister Kathryn went through early menopause at the age of 36 – something that Zoe was fearful of happening to her.

“I have a very low AMH rate, which is anti-mullerian hormone, one of the markers for low ovarian reserves,” she told Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes on This Morning previously.

“So basically I don’t have many eggs left.”
