If you’re looking for a feel-good story this afternoon (although the royal baby news already has us on a high), we have just the one for you.
Kelsie and Patrick Peters have warmed hearts all over the world, by sharing their very special twin gender reveal.
Over on Love What Matters, Kelsie and Patrick explained just why their latest baby news is so important.
Five years ago, when they were pregnant with their first child, they suffered a miscarriage.
Their little miracle, Bennett, arrived months later. He is now three years old, and treasured.
After Bennett came onto the scene, Kelsie and Patrick fell pregnant again but endured their second miscarriage. This happened a third time just months later.
“At that point, we weren’t able to even get pregnant for over a year,” wrote Kelsie.
“It was decided that I needed to undergo a massive amount of bloodwork and tests in order to see if there’s any underlying issue.
“We saw I have Factor V (a blood clotting disorder), and that my body ‘shouldn’t be able to sustain pregnancies without medical intervention’.”
For this reason, they were told that Bennett was a ‘true miracle’.
Kelsie was prescribed with a blood thinner, and it wasn’t long before she and Patrick received yet more incredible news – they were expecting. Not only that, but it’s twins!
“Awe immediately hit our faces and, along with tears in our eyes, our hearts became overwhelmed at the thought of receiving a DOUBLE rainbow!” Kelsie added.
They held a very special gender reveal for their family and friends, but they chose to keep the number of babies a secret!
“It’s too difficult emotionally to tell family we’re pregnant…just to have to go back and take that joy away from them, all while dealing with our own loss and grief,” Kelsie explained.
“So, during the gender reveal, we had a hidden box ready to be thrown in last minute – to completely throw everyone off.”
With Bennett at the centre of the celebrations, Patrick and Kelsie recorded the gender reveal – and the surprise went down a real treat.
