She may be blissfully enjoying motherhood, but Amy Childs has come in for major criticism this week – all over an Instagram post.

The 27-year-old, who is mum to four-month-old daughter Polly, took to the social media site to pose a question about early weaning.

She explained that as Polly is a ‘very hungry’ baby, she has decided to move her on to baby rice.

“I was feeding her every four hours, and now she is waking up in between, wanting more food!” she explained.

“I don’t know why, but I still think she is so small to be having baby rice; but I’m going to give it a try, as they now say to put them on rice at four months.”

Amy added that other mums she had asked had advised her to wait until the six-month mark to wean, and wanted to know how her fans felt about it.

The former TOWIE star’s legion of fans were quick to comment on the post – and they didn’t hold back!

One follower branded her ‘irresponsible’, writing: “As an influential person, Amy should not be promoting early weaning, end of. Guidelines are there for a reason.”

This seemed to be the general consensus, with another chiming in: “What you do with your baby is your business, but as a ‘celebrity’ who lots of people follow/look to, there’s no way you should be publicly posting this.

“It seems like you’re promoting early weaning. It would be completely different if you were weaning early because your little one has medical issues and your doctor had advised it; but doing it because your baby is hungry is not a valid reason. All babies are hungry – if you need to, give more milk!”

The criticism of Amy comes just days after fellow reality star Danielle Lloyd came under fire on Instagram.

Danielle, who is expecting her fourth child, was slammed for sharing a photo of a babygro for her little one, with the words ‘Donald Trump Junior’ branded on it.

The move was branded ‘sickening’, and despite insisting that it was a light-hearted joke, Danielle felt compelled to remove the post.

What are your thoughts on Amy’s post, mums?
