Actress describes her son's birth as a ‘psychedelic experience’

When it comes to labour, describing it as being ‘psychedelic’ is probably not the first thing we would think of. However, that is exactly the word this actress used when talking about the birth of her son recently.  

 

Into the Forest actress Evan Rachel Wood welcomed her little boy two years ago after a candlelit home delivery, and spilled all the details to The Edit: “It was a psychedelic experience. I felt like I was hitting every corner of the room. Everything was vibrating.”

 

Rachel, who has not publicly shared her son’s name, currently co-parents with her ex, Jamie Bell, who she describes as “the love of [her] life”.

 

Talking about having another baby, the 27-year-old admits she doesn’t want to give birth again and is open to adoption, saying: “I don’t want to have another baby, but my little sister is adopted, and I was hoping that one day I could do that.”

 

“There are so many possibilities,” she explains in Net-A-Porter’s magazine.

 

 

The Barefoot actress, who is currently in a relationship, describes her “edgier” days as being behind her, explaining how she spends her evenings doing normal domestic chores.

 

“People say, ‘What about when the baby goes to sleep?’ But that’s when I’m doing laundry, cleaning the house, answering emails. I pretty much always have a stain on my shirt. That’s my life!”
