To hear that you and your partner can never have children together must be incredibly difficult to swallow, especially if babies have been at the centre of your life plan together.

This was exactly the case for Louisiana couple Udona and Chuck Herbert, who were told when they wed back in 1995 that they would never conceive.

Despite what the doctors said, the Herberts still tried their hardest to start a family, but they were left heartbroken when it never happened for them.

Indeed, speaking to People magazine, Chuck recalled how “it always felt like there was something missing” from their lives.

Things took a dramatic turn in January of this year, however, when Udona began experiencing stomach cramps. Fearing for her health, she went to the doctor and underwent tests.

She and Chuck could not have been prepared for what they found out – she was eight months pregnant!

The couple went on to welcome their son, Brooks Major Herbert, just four weeks later and have described him as ‘the best surprise they have ever gotten’.

Due to problems with his lungs, the tot had to stay in neonatal intensive care for nine days after his birth, but the ‘miracle’ baby is now said to be doing well.

What an incredible story. We’re wishing the Herberts all the best with their gorgeous new addition.
