"When was the last time you wore your wedding dress? Or even seen it and touched it?" mum-of-six Stevie Niki asked in a recent Facebook post.
Our wedding dress is not really something we think about on a daily basis, to be honest.
It sadly sits at the back of the wardrobe, gathering dust in the dark, lonely closet.
But Stevie's words have got us thinking, and we are totally going to pull it out tonight and have a little twirl in it.
"We spend thousands of dollars on a dress we only wear once and probably never look at again (except in photos) then have it stashed away in the back of our wardrobes until lord knows when," the My Tribe of Six blogger writes.
"Doesn't this sound so silly when you think about it?"
"Whilst unpacking my dresses after the move it got me thinking about all this.
"I have two stunning wedding dresses I wore on my wedding day and may never wear again, a Deb dress that hasn't seen the light of day since the ball back is 2005 and a few bridesmaids dresses collected over the years."
Highlighting the sheer cost of each item, the Australian mum wonders why we only ever wear these dresses once.
"Two kids on since my wedding day and 5kg heavier, the back doesn't do up and I had to wear a shirt underneath so the girls weren't on show BUT I still felt as beautiful as I did on the day."
"Let's face it, we are all little girls at heart. Now we just do dress ups in a grown up way, with clothes that flatter, higher heels, bigger hair and nicer make up.
"It brings on an instant wave of nostalgia that washes over you and takes you back to one of the best days of your life."
As she contemplates the fact that their price tag may be the reason why we never take the dresses out, Stevie highlights that you can still make memories with those dresses - this time with your kids.
"I'll tell you what means more to me than the cost of any dress.. their happiness!
"The memories made of their Mummy talking about the day a lot of little girls and boys dream of. Dressing up just like Mummy and feeling just like a princess.
Continuing, she writes: "Your dress isn't going to get broken in your home either. If it survived your wedding day, the countless drunks, alcohol spillages, cutting cake and dance floor shenanigans with your nearest and dearest, I'm fairly certain it'll survive your home and your kids too.
"So get your dress out, share something special with your kids or take yourself back to one of the most magical days in your life and live happily ever ever."
Well, that's us convinced!
