For those of you who hate flying, or are wracked with nerves the minute the plane starts to move, spare a thought for the woman who this week gave birth during a flight from Saudi Arabia to the US.
According to the Mirror, the unnamed woman was travelling on a Boeing 77 flight to the States when she went into labour.
The plane is said to have already been over Northern Ireland when the pilot turned back around, heading for Wales. In the end, an emergency landing was made in England’s Heathrow Airport.
Both Mum and Baby are said to be doing well after their ordeal, with the plane’s beaming air hostesses going on to pose for the tot’s first photo.
The image, featuring four air hostesses and a rather bewildered-looking toddler, was shared by Gulf Insider – and took no time at all to go viral!
Congratulations to the new mother, and well done to all who brought the plane to a safe stop and tended to the woman and her child.
