Amy Childs shocked her fans when she announced she was separating from her boyfriend Bradley Wright just six weeks after giving birth to their daughter, Polly.

At the time, she did not divulge the reasons for the split but has since told OK! that she had become more like “a friend and his mum”.

Amy explained that she felt Bradley was no longer making an effort to maintain their relationship after Polly’s arrival.

"I wanted Brad to be my best friend and my lover, and in the end, we just didn’t have anything in common. I fell out of love with him. After Polly arrived, he was sleeping in a different room,” the reality star said.

Amy found herself doing all the housework and caring for Polly without any help from Bradley.

“I was doing the bottles, cleaning and doing his dinner. I wish he’d helped me. The hardest thing for me was on my birthday (June 7). He didn’t even get me a present. He got me a card, but he didn’t take me out,” she revealed.

"I thought maybe me, him and Polly could go to the park for lunch or dinner. But no, nothing. I deserve to be treated much better than that. I was making the effort and getting nothing back. If you’re trying and they’re not, it’s hard. I did everything by myself."

While Bradley was overjoyed at the birth of their daughter, Amy revealed the cracks in their relationship began to show a few weeks later.

"When the baby came, we were both crying and it was amazing. Then, after two weeks, I just thought, I can’t do this anymore. He was good for five days and I thought, maybe things will be different.

"But then it felt like the novelty had worn off for him. He was coming back from work later. With a newborn, dads get two weeks off, but Brad was back to work after five days."

Last week, a representative for Amy confirmed the couple had split but denied rumours that Amy had thrown Bradley out of her home. Amy's representative said: "Amy has not thrown Brad out, but they have split up amicably.

"Brad will, of course, see Polly whenever he likes, and they will remain friends."
