After being together for almost ten years Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt decided to make their union official by getting married.

And just like most newlyweds, they decided to celebrate with a honeymoon, although theirs was a little bit different from the typical trip away.

The couple decided to combine filming By the Sea on location in Malta with their honeymoon, something Angie says could have turned out really bad.

Admitting that it wasn’t all plain sailing, the 40-year-old told The Telegraph that there were days when they thought a working honeymoon was not the best idea:

“There were days during filming last year when we were really worried and it was hard.”

Explaining that they wanted to see how far they could push their relationship, the Maleficent star said: “We wanted to see how far we could push our relationship and our love and see if we can work together under very intense circumstances and with very complex issues and see if it would make us better.”

Thankfully, it turned out fine in the end, with Angelina concluding that it was the “best honeymoon”.

“It was kind of a message to each other that we are going to stick together whatever comes.”

The couple have been through a lot over the past few years but have always appeared very strong, and Angelina’s praise for Brad’s support during her surgeries only reiterates this fact.

“I knew through the surgeries that he was on my side and that this wasn’t something where I was going to feel less of a woman, because my husband wasn’t going to let that happen,” said the 40-year-old.
