Asda customers can now help support baby charity Tommy’s and parents across the UK, simply by buying their baby essentials during their local Asda Baby & Toddler event, while making a valuable donation to Tommy’s.

From 27th August – 16th September, leading brands such as Huggies, Pamper and Cow & Gate will be giving donations to Tommy’s, while customers can also benefit from fantastic offers on these products during the Baby & Toddler event.

With a percentage of sales of these items going to Tommy’s, Asda hopes to raise an amazing £100,000 for the charity. This money will fund vital medical research into problems that occur during pregnancy and birth.

Tommy’s supporter and singer Natasha Hamilton is supporting the fundraising drive. She says: “My youngest son Harry was born a couple of weeks early, which gave me just a glimpse of what some parents go through when a baby is born prematurely. My experiences have really made me appreciate what some families have to go through and that's why I'm doing all I can to support Tommy's. By raising money for research into pregnancy complications, I'm hoping that more families will be able to enjoy the amazing experience of seeing their children grow up.'

Asda has been supporting the charity for years, and since 2000 has raised £3million for Tommy’s.

Not all parents are lucky enough to have a healthy baby, and many women suffer complications during their pregnancy. In fact it’s a lot more common than people think. This year in the UK:
  • 1 in 4 women will have a miscarriage
  • 4000 babies are stillborn
  • 60,000 babies are born too soon (which can lead to cerebral palsy, chronic lung disease, disability, blindness, deafness and illness in adulthood).
Your support can help Tommy’s continue its work to ensure that more babies are born healthy, so make sure you pop into Asda’s Baby and Toddler event this August and September to purchase all your baby essentials.
