Retailer ASDA has been forced to recall a line of children’s soothers from its stores after a particularly serious complaint from a customer.

In a statement issued by the British retailer this week, it was revealed that a customer got in contact with the company after a ‘Little Angels’ soother fell apart in a child’s mouth.

The statement read:

“As a precaution, ASDA is recalling the Little Angels 2 Newborn Soothers 0+ Months (dummies). These are sold in twin packs – the shield is clear and the plug on the front has a number of different designs. We have had one customer complaint that the teat has broken away and detached from the hard casing, so we have taken the precaution of taking the product off sale and recalling from customers due to the possible risk of choking.”

Anyone with one of the soothers is asked to either dispose of it or return it to their local ASDA for a full refund.

The company added that no other ASDA Little Angels soothers were affected.
