Police in Queensland, Australia are urgently trying to track down a couple who reportedly snatched a newborn baby from a hospital.

 

According to reports, the couple entered Gold Coast University Hospital on Friday, and took the child.

 

CCTV footage stills have been released, showing the couple in the hospital's lift. The newborn tot is seen cradled in the woman's arms.

 

 

Police now believe that the baby is 'at significant risk', and they are calling on the public to assist them in tracking down the couple.

 

The pair are described as Caucasian; the man is aged 45, with a shaved head, while the woman is aged 30 and has 'brown, wavy hair'.

 

It is believed that the couple are accompanied by a girl aged between 12 and 14.

 

 

Photos of the as yet unnamed couple have been released to the public, with authorities hoping the images will help track them down.

 

An Amber Alert has also been issued.
