Her case touched hearts around the world last year, but Chrissy Turner – the youngest known breast cancer patient – is in remission and fighting fit.

Months after undergoing a mastectomy for secretory breast carcinoma, which is said to affect one in a million people, the nine-year-old is now sharing some important advice.

In an interview with People, Chrissy – who was diagnosed at the age of eight – said: “It’s important to be aware of your body no matter what age you are.”

“If you ever find a lump, don’t wait. You should go to a doctor and have it looked at,” she added.

The Utah native, herself, discovered a cancerous lump under her right nipple while getting ready for bed one night last year.

After alerting mum Annette to the lump, which was sore to the touch, Chrissy was taken to the doctor for a check-up.

Despite the doctor brushing off the Turners’ cancer fears, Annette insisted on an ultrasound, and Chrissy was diagnosed shortly after.

Now, Chrissy is back at school and enjoying her life, but she wants to spread awareness of cancer – at all ages – using her first-hand experience.

Courageous Chrissy is set to share her story at an upcoming seminar for breast cancer survivors.

SHARE to spread Chrissy’s important health advice far and wide.
