One of the most important things you need to do before you go to bed apart from kiss the kids goodnight and brush your teeth is to take off your make-up.

To help make your beauty bedtime ritual go smoother, here are four steps you need to take:

Cleanse your face
Remove all traces of make-up with a cleanser suitable for your skin. Don’t forget your neck. Also at least once a week give your face a once over with an exfoliator cream to give it a bit of a boost.

Use a toner
To ensure you have taken off all traces of make-up, go over your face with toner. This will keep your pores extra squeaky clean, especially if your skin is oily.

Eye make-up remover
Make sure you remove your eye make-up with a product suitable for eyes. This is because normal cleansers can be too harsh for the eye area and will simply irritate them.

Moisturise
Moisturise, moisturise, moisturise. Even if you have oily skin you need to give it some much needed hydration.
