With a loving husband, two wonderful sons and twins on the way, Jessica Boesmiller was living a pretty perfect life - until tragedy struck.
The mum from North Carolina, had been experiencing blurry vision towards the end of her pregnancy so she went to the doctor to get it checked out.
Unfortunately, following a biopsy, it was discovered that Jessica had ocular melanoma - a rare form of eye cancer that develops in the cells that produce pigment.
The tumour was covering half her eye ball and doctors were worried it had spread to other parts of her body.
Jessica refused radiation therapy for fear it would harm her twins and decided the best course of action was to simply remove her eye.
So, on November 30th, a few weeks before she gave birth, Jessica's right eye was removed.
Three weeks later, the mum gave birth to two healthy babies on December 21st.
The mum-of-four is currently awaiting results from a MRI and CAT scan to see if the cancer has spread.
"We’ve prayed a whole lot and we need to focus on the twins’ needs at this time," she told People.
"We can’t change anything by worrying, we just have to focus on the blessings that we have — and we have so many.
"We pray for the patience and strength that only God can give us."
