No matter where in the world a story comes from, breastfeeding is a common topic that unites every mum and we thought this was a particularly interesting tale.

It starts off like many other breastfeeding stories – mum asked to cover up or leave the establishment after nursing her child – but not for the reason you’d think.

US mum Crystal McCullough was asked to leave Big Woody’s Bar & Grill by management after other diners claimed they were uncomfortable when she began breastfeeding. Why? Because she had purchased a shot and a beer, both of which were sitting on the table in front of her.

Crystal told management, “There is no law that says I cannot breastfeed and drink,” after being asked to be more discrete. After refusing to do so, she was then told she was being cashed out immediately.

She says she researched the topic and knows how much she can drink without affecting her milk and also claims she wasn’t going to drink until she was finished feeding her tot.

Since the incident, the restaurant’s Facebook page has received hundreds of comments, some supporting their decision and others defending the rights of breastfeeding mums.

So, was this a case of people sticking their nose where they shouldn’t or were they right to take a stand?
