They were among the list of celeb couples who shocked us back in 2015, when they announced that they were breaking up; however, Brian Austin Green and Megan Fox are standing strong and unified today.

Now, former Beverley Hills: 90210 star Brian has opened up about how the couple – who have been married for nearly seven years – have made it through the tough times to stay together.

The 43-year-old spoke to People magazine at the Women’s Choice Awards, in LA, this week – and put the couple’s staying power down to compromise and understanding one another.

“I’ve dated people before, and you kind of get to that point where you go, ‘You know what? I don’t feel the same way’ – and I’ve never reached that with her,” he explained.

When asked about the secret to a successful marriage, he added: “I don’t know what the secret is. Just stick it out – like, fighting and making up, believing in each other.

“I mean, we fight; we disagree on things. But I don’t want to go anywhere, and she doesn’t, you know? So, we stick it out.”

The couple surprised everyone when, two years ago, they announced their intention to separate. At the time, Megan filed for divorce, citing ‘irreconcilable differences’. Their sons Noah and Bodhi were just three and 18 months, respectively.

The rumour mill went into overdrive months later, however, when Megan stepped out at a red carpet press call, flaunting a baby bump. She proceeded to laugh off the ‘who’s the daddy?’ speculation that followed, confirming that she and Brian were expecting their third child together.

The couple went on to call off their divorce shortly before welcoming their third child, son Journey, last August.

A source told the Daily Mail at the time: “They’ve been through a lot, but this makes more sense for the kids and the new baby.”

Brian is also father to 15-year-old Kassius; his son from a previous relationship.

Megan previously opened up about how motherhood has impacted upon her life, particularly in terms of acting and the kind of jobs she goes for, now that she has three children.

“It changes your perspective about being overly sexual in a film when you have a baby. I’m going to be more cautious about choosing films, because I’m already thinking about when they’re in school and their friends are going to be showing them my photo shoots with me in a bikini, and they’re going to be horrified,” she revealed.
