As any mum-of-two – or more – will know only too well, the early days after a baby’s birth are a really special and intimate time for everyone in the family. Indeed, it is often an integral time for big brothers and sisters to form bonds with the latest addition to the family.
The beauty of this bonding period has been illustrated wonderfully in a post shared to the Love What Matters Facebook page this week.
Photographer Wesley Eisenhauer (website here) recently captured a stunning collage image documenting how one mother’s life totally changed after the arrival of her newborn.
The first photo shows her lying on her bed alone; the second depicts her pregnant and cuddling up to her daughter; in the third, she is alone and doting on her newborn; and in the final shot, all three are bonding together.
“Here’s how my life changed over the weekend. My oldest daughter has handled the new addition well,” she wrote.
With just a few simple – but artfully captured and presented – photographs, the journey of a new mother and her family is beautifully defined here.
It’s no wonder that the image has gone viral online, with followers of the Facebook page going all googly-eyed over the ‘precious’, ‘beautiful’ and ‘overwhelming’ scenes.
