Huge congratulations are in order for Charlotte Church and her boyfriend Johnny Powell, who have tied the knot in a secret wedding ceremony.

The couple said "I do", surrounded by their nearest and dearest loved ones. The singer shared the news with fans on her Twitter account this afternoon.

The mum-of-two posted a sweet photo of the happy couple on their wedding day. She posted the photo, which was taken by her talented cousin, Elliot.

Charlotte looked stunning in a lace and chiffon gown, accessorised with a delicate flower crown. Her husband, meanwhile, wore a quirky brown patterned suit.

A small number of the happy couple’s friends and family members attended the event. Charlotte’s mum, Maria, acted as a witness during the ceremony, which took place in St David’s Suite of Cardiff Register Office.

They made their partnership official at a registry office in Cardiff, on October 2. The wedding celebrations took place at the lovebirds’ home, in Dinas Powys.

Charlotte has been dating musician Johnny for seven years. It is believed that the loved-up pair said their vows back in September.

The Welsh songstress asked her guests to be extremely discrete about her special day. The Crazy Chick singer wanted the sentimental day to be completely private.

A source told the Daily Mail, “Jonathan has been a great influence on Charlotte, she has calmed down a lot since she met him.”

Charlotte and Jonathan suffered a devastating miscarriage in June. The singer made the heartbreaking announcement on her Twitter account, writing, “Now is a time for grieving and being together as a family. We kindly ask everyone to respect that peace."

Charlotte has two children - seven-year-old Ruby, and five-year-old Dexter - from her previous relationship with rugby star Gavin Henson. They split up in May 2010.

Charlotte says Johnny is a huge part of Ruby and Dexter’s lives. She previously revealed that her new husband often helps them with their schoolwork and has even been teaching them how to play guitar.

She told the Book Shambles podcast, “We read to them every night. I try and sing to them as well, but they don’t like it at all. Johnny does all of the reading because he’s far better at doing voices.”

We are thrilled for the happy couple!
