When it comes to parenting, there's always one parent who tends to get the 'softie' label while the other gets (unfairly, we might add) 'tough' or 'firm.' Generally, and because the primary caregiving does fall to the mum, it can be the dad who lets them away with murder or (more accurately!) is deemed the 'pushover.'
It may not always be the way in your house but how many times have you heard your mum friends re-tell a similar tale? It isn't easy to instil discipline at the best of times (even in a loving manner) whereas it's much easier to give in and be agreeable to your little ones' demands.
This is something model, entrepreneur and of course mum-of-two, Chrissy Teigen knows a little something about. She and husband John Legend are naturals when it comes to parenting their daughter Luna and son Miles, but the 32-year-old revealed that Legend needs more help in the discipline department.
“He will say no, and then if [Luna] asks one more time, it’s a yes,” Teigen admitted while promoting her new cookbook in the US. “He’s a bit of a pushover with Luna. I think it’s because they look so much alike and he’s like, ‘Okay, you beautiful being. Anything you want.'”
“He needs to learn to say no because I’m the tough guy,” she continued. “It’s always a thing in any household; there’s always one.”
Being fair to her husband, Chrissy admits that their two-year-old daughter is extremely spoiled already, and was quick to mention the other skills that made him a wonderful parent.
“He’s also insanely patient,” Teigen continued. “He’s amazing at diaper changing still.”
“He gives them so much attention no matter what’s going on in his life or my life or work-wise. They never feel like they’re like second to work and I think he’s really great with that.”
