We are in tears watching this.
Unless you have been through the adoption process it is hard to imagine what any mum and/or dad goes through from the moment they start their journey.
As someone who has never experienced it or known anyone to have gone through it, it is hard for me, as a mum, to imagine the sheer raw emotions that the parents go through, especially on the day they go to collect their child.
And that is something this ad truly captures. Yes, ad. We are talking about an ad here, but it certainly hit me right in the feels, that’s for sure.
Every once in a while a commercial will come along and affect us a lot more than we would ever expect it to.
In fact, so much so that what the ad is about will go over our heads as we try to see through the tears that are pouring down our faces.
This one is by Ikea, the furniture company that normally makes fun and quirky ads – the type that makes you sit up and take notice.
And while this one certainly makes you take notice, it does so in an entirely different way – with your heart.
It follows one women’s journey as she travels to the other side of the world to meet the child that she has adopted, and it is both moving and captivating.
In fact, it was created in collaboration with Adoptionscentrum, a Swedish organisation that helps educate people about adoptions, so capturing the true essence of adoption.
It hits us right in the feels and we couldn’t resist sharing.
