The One Show presenter made the announcement when she called into the show to reveal she had given birth to a baby boy.

This is the first child for Alex and husband Charlie Thompson who had worried that they had left it too late to have children.
The new mum shared updates with fans throughout her pregnancy even sharing how shocked she was by the size of her belly before giving birth.
“Just caught my reflection. WOW! I’m shocked even though I’ve grown it myself.”
