She has made no secret of the fact that she would love to expand her brood, and it seems Kim Kardashian has put plans in action for a third child with husband Kanye West.
A source has ‘confirmed’ to People magazine that the couple have signed a financial arrangement with a surrogate, to carry their baby.
After the report surfaced online, entertainment website TMZ added that the power-couple have agreed to pay the unidentified surrogate $113K to bring their third child into the world.
Kim, who is mother to four-year-old daughter North and 18-month-old son Saint, hinted earlier this year that surrogacy could be on the cards for the couple. This is chiefly due to the serious complications she has suffered with her pregnancies.
The 36-year-old previously opened up about her experience with placenta accreta, a condition whereby the placenta grows in the wall of the womb, preventing it from detaching easily during the birth.
In a candid blog post shared on her official website, the reality star admitted that her doctor had warned her against trying to carry another child.
Recalling a horrific moment from daughter North’s birth, Kim wrote: “My doctor had to stick his entire arm in me and detach the placenta with his hand, scraping it away from my uterus with his fingernails.
“My mum was crying – she had never seen anything like this before. My delivery was fairly easy, but then going through that – it was the most painful experience of my life!
“They gave me a second epidural, but we were racing against time, so I just had to deal.”
Kim drew up the subject of having a third child on her reality show, Keeping Up With the Kardashians, earlier this year and discussed her options with her family.
“I’ve come to the conclusion in my mind that I can’t carry another one. So, now I want to explore surrogacy,” she said.
Kim has previously gushed about motherhood, describing it was ‘the most rewarding feeling’ in the world.
“I love being a mum,” she said. “I really love every phase. Just the way my daughter laughs with me – all of the small things in life you appreciate!”
