We loved Emma Thompson as Nanny McPhee, Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing, Elinor in Sense and Sensibility, and Professor Trelawney in the Harry Potter series.
And, of course, who could forget her compelling performance in Love Actually - that crying scene in the bedroom makes us weep every time!
Now, the 59-year-old actress' extensive work has been recognised in the Queen's Birthday Honours List.

Emma has been made a dame, along with historian and broadcaster Mary Beard. The BBC reports that former Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish was knighted.
Keira Knightley received an OBE (Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) for services to drama and charity and Tom Hardy was granted a CBE (Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire).

Dame Emma is the only person to have won Academy Awards for both acting and writing, showing just how talented she is in the arts.
She received the Academy Award for Best Actress for her lead role in Howard's End, and won for Best Adapted Screenplay for Sense and Sensibility.
We can't think of a more deserving woman! Congrats, Dame Emma Thompson.
