Controversial? This woman wants to call her baby after this Disney character

One woman has caused quite the stir online after admitting she wants to name her child after characters from a Disney movie.

There’s no doubt many parents have been inspired by Disney movies when picking a name for their tiny tot- Peter, Ariel and Belle are such sweet options, but this mum-to-be has sought inspiration from one of Disney’s newest flicks.

She explained to Mumsnet that she hopes to call her children Elsa and Olaf after the characters in Frozen.

The woman explained that her other half is Scandinavian, “We are quite keen for the names Elsa and Olaf (strong family connection) for our baby.”

She asked: “I’ve heard these are names now popular or familiar from Frozen but as we haven’t got kids yet, not sure how strong is the association and is it likely to fade soon?”

Mums were quick to respond to her enquiry and their responses were pretty divided.

“Elsa is pretty but I wouldn't call a child Olaf. Even when everyone has forgotten about Frozen, it sounds like a big hulking villain,” one said.

Another added: “They are lovely names but I think particularly with Olaf you risk constantly hearing “do you wanna build a snowman?”

“I like Elsa but Olaf makes me think of a clumsy snowman. I do know an Aurora, Belle and Jasmine so it isn’t that unusual.”

One added: “Elsa is a nice name but I absolutely would not use Olaf. It will forever be associated with Frozen I reckon.”

Another user recommended using Olaf as a middle name.

What do you think? Are the names sweet or will they forever be associated with Frozen?
