She announced that she is expecting her second child at the start of this year, but it seems not everything is as plain sailing for this Coronation Street actress as it was first time ’round.

Samia Ghadie, who plays Maria in the popular soap, announced via her Twitter page that she and fiancé, Sylvain Longchambon, were expecting their first child together, writing: “Me and @slongchambon have some very happy news to share.. We are having a baby!! Freya can't wait to be a big sister later this year!”

Samia is already mum to Freya from her marriage to Mathew Smith, and while she is excited about baby number two it seems it is not as easy for her this time.

Opening up in her OK! Online blog, the 32-year-old explained that she has been experiencing a lot of back ache and puts it down to the fact her back has seemed weaker since her Caesarean on Freya: “One thing that has been quite literally a pain for me this pregnancy is lower backache. I’ve read up on it and apparently it's pretty normal because your ligaments are softer when pregnant and that, coupled with hormonal changes and a growing uterus, is a recipe for a bad back! I don't remember it being so bad when I had Freya, although after having a C-section it has always seemed a bit weaker.”

However, Sylvain, who she met while taking part in Dancing on Ice in 2013, has been giving her a few back rubs to help her through the pain. “Sylvain has been a great help though and has been giving me plenty of back rubs.”

The Corrie star also admits that sleeping is difficult but has found her pregnancy pillow to be a “godsend”.

“Trying to sleep has been a challenge though so I ordered a fab pregnancy pillow which has been a godsend," she said.

The actress is due in the autumn, and we can't wait to hear the name the couple have chosen.
