Congratulations are in order this morning, with the announcement that we’re set to welcome another showbiz baby into the world.
Coronation Street star Shayne Ward and his girlfriend, Hollyoaks actress Sophie Austin have confirmed that they are expecting their first child together.
It was former X Factor star Shayne who broke the good news, on Twitter, writing: “After much speculation, I’m overjoyed to announce that Sophie and I are expecting our first child.”

Sophie shared the same statement over on her own account.
The couple have reportedly been dating since March, following Sophie’s split from husband Graeme Rooney. Sophie and Graeme tied the knot in July of last year but announced their plans to divorce eight months later.
Rumours regarding a potential romance between Shayne and Sophie began to circulate earlier this year, with a representative for the 31-year-old Corrie star finally confirming their love.
Naturally, the stars’ social media has been ablaze with messages of congratulations over the past number of hours.
“Huge congratulations! You are going to make the most amazing parents! Best news ever!” wrote one excited fan.
We’re wishing Sophie and Shayne all the best with the exciting journey ahead.
