If anyone deserves a round of applause this week, it’s British woman and new mum Charlotte Hawthorn, who has made headlines following the birth of her gorgeous son Rory.

According to a report by MailOnline.com, Rory – who was born weighing in at whopping 12lb 7oz – is one of Britain’s biggest babies to be born naturally.

Charlotte and her partner, Mathew Williams, were delighted to find out last July that they were expecting, following a round of IVF treatment. They had no idea, however, just how big their baby would be!

Charlotte recalled her labour experience at Wirral’s Arrowe Park Hospital: “I started pushing at around 7pm, but no matter how hard I pushed, nothing happened. I was giving it everything I had and getting nowhere.”

“At one point, I got frustrated because Mathew thought I wasn’t pushing hard enough when I really was. I think when he finally came out, people realised what I had been up against,” she added.

Indeed, when their beautiful bundle of joy arrived into the world, dad Mathew’s first words were: “He is huge!”

Congratulations to the happy family!
