An LA-based mum- and dad-to-be have placed an ad on Craigslist, looking for an R&B singer to perform at the birth of their child.
The ad, which was posted earlier this week, reads: “We are looking for a singer, male or female, to perform R&B classics as our first child begins its life on this beautiful, yet very troubled planet. We’re hoping that your voice will not only create a peaceful birthing environment, but also foster creativity and musical capabilities in our beautiful spawn.”
Among the must-have credentials of potential candidates are “a wide knowledge base of R&B classics” and an ability to “face the reality of childbirth”. This last quality is particularly important, considering that the couple “would like you to sing into the birth canal as our child passes through its mother and into the Earth’s atmosphere”. This job is clearly not for the faint-hearted!
They go on to assure the successful candidate that they will be well-remunerated, given the intensity of what is being asked of them.
We wonder if they have had a big response!
