Kids’ parties are expensive, which means that cutting costs where you can goes a long way. You are always going to have a few spare paper plates and straws going after a birthday bash, so why not get crafting with your soon-to-be leftovers ahead of the celebrations?
What you need:
- Paper plates
- Straws
- Paint
- Scissors
- Glue
- Stapler
What to do:
- Cut a paper plate in half, setting one half aside for later and keeping the other for the base of the mask.
- Decide on which animal or character you are going to create, then paint your half-plate accordingly.
- Use the leftover half to create and cut out extras in the form of eyes, noses, ears, whiskers and horns. Stick them on using a stapler or glue, once the paint is dry.
- Next, take your straw and staple it to the side edge of the mask, right where the inner border meets the lined outer one.
- Create a range of cute characters for your little guests to choose from.
