She may be one of the UK’s most treasured TV presenters, with a fabulous career, but Strictly Come Dancing host Claudia Winkleman is no stranger to ‘the mum meltdown’.

The 44-year-old – who is mum to 13-year-old Jake, 10-year-old Matilda, and five-year-old Arthur – admitted that she had to take a step back from work, after becoming ‘completely overwhelmed’.

In an interview with Red magazine, she recalled: “I’d call my husband on Christmas Eve from the floor of John Lewis, crying my eyes out because I hadn’t got anything for the kids and I’d missed the nativity play.”

“I need to be more present, because I don’t want to miss the nativity again,” she added, candidly.

Claudia, who is married to Kris Thykier, added that a mutual love of family has solidified her close bond with co-host Tess Daly.

The blonde beauty chimed in: “Of course, our work defines us, and we love other things but, ultimately, family is our world. All my relationships with women are empowering. That support is vital, because you don’t get it elsewhere.”

The duo became an instant hit with viewers back in 2014, when Claudia officially replaced outgoing host Bruce Forsyth.
