Sports can bring out the best and worst in people, and this has to be one of the best.
No matter what sport you enjoy, we are all aware most people tend to support the same team or individual that our parents support.

And that’s it, you’re a pledged fan.
With that in mind, Pete Van Vleet decided to break tradition.

Pete has become the father of a new baby boy Jack, but he doesn’t want him to support the same baseball team as himself just because.
So he came up with this genius game plan.
Pete, a Houston Astro’s fan, wrote to every team in the MLB league asking why his son should support that team.

And the responses are exceptional.
From team president letters to signed memorabilia to bribery, so far four teams have all sent their regards and reasoning.

The fact these major league teams took the time to respond to that letter, is reason enough for us to lend our support too!
