Today is World Book Day, and the internet has accordingly been awash with images of fantastic and inventive costumes modelled by excited children.
Unfortunately, Joe Heenan’s two children are not among those smiling, happy children – because they are stuck with possibly the worst World Book Day costumes we have ever set eyes on!
Hilarious Joe took to Twitter claiming that, having completely forgotten about the World Book Day dress-up festivities at his son and daughter’s school, he had to resort to desperate measures.
Posting a photo of two very sour looking children, one holding a toaster and the other holding a hairdryer, he wrote: “Forgot they had to be in costume, so they’re going to school as pages 89 and 165 of the Argos catalogue.”

As you can imagine, Joe’s post has left the Twitterverse in hysterics, garnering thousands of ‘favourites’ and shares across social media.
The image also prompted similarly humorous responses, with one person writing: “Her face is exquisite. Also, what’s the code for that toaster?”
Something tells us that these costumes still went down a treat at school!
