They recently celebrated their 16-year wedding anniversary, and given his love of ink, it’s not surprising to see that David Beckham has decided to get a very special tribute to his wife.

The doting dad-of-four took to his Instagram account early this morning to share a snap of the latest addition to his ever-growing tattoo collection – and it holds very special significance for him.

Captioning the black-and-white photo of a ‘99’ on his baby finger, the 40-year-old former football ace wrote: “99 was a good year for me.”

Dedicated fans and followers will know that not only was 1999 the year that David won a historic Treble (the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League) with Manchester United, but he also married former Spice Girl and fashion designer Victoria that July. It was also the year that the couple welcomed their first child, Brooklyn.

Of course, Victoria also has an impressive tattoo collection herself, including a Roman numeral inking of the date that the couple renewed their wedding vows – May 8, 2006.

David recently marked the couple’s wedding anniversary by sharing a stunning photo of the couple with their four children; Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper.

“16 years on we have our beautiful children…Thank you for giving me our amazing little ones…Happy anniversary,” he wrote beside the gorgeous shot.
