Likely Cause:     Lactose Intolerance (rare in young children)

  • Laboured breathing
  • Wheezing
  • Vomiting or diarrhoea
  • Symptoms worsen after eating
Likely Cause:     Food Allergy (If your child is having trouble breathing, seek medication attention immediately)

  • Blood in the stool
  • Does not gain weight
  • Symptoms occur within a short period of time after drinking milk
Likely Cause:    Allergy to milk  (If your toddler has trouble breathing, seek medical attention immediately.)

Symptoms   
  • Frequent loose bowel movements
  • Stool looks as if it contains undigested foods or mucus
  • Foul smelling stool
  • Weight gain and growth are normal

  • Diarrhoea when drinking a high volume of fruit juice

Symptoms   
  • Diarrhoea that is chronic or reoccurs frequently
  • Bulky stool that is foul-smelling
  • Symptoms worsen after eating particular foods
  • Slow growth or weight gain
Likely Cause:     Malabsorption (poor absorption of nutrients) 
 
 
Symptoms   
  • Has a chronic cough
  • Gets colds often
  • History of sinusitis
  • Coughs up a yellow or greenish phlegm
  • Eats well but does not gain weight
  • Foul smelling stools that are heavy and greasy
  • Skin has a salty taste
Likely Cause:     Cystic Fibrosis
